Job summary

Peak Education Recruitment Ltd in London area is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a 7-year-old pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition in a primary setting in Morden.

You'll work Monday to Thursday, 8.30am-4.30pm, with pay of £15.45-£16.53 per hour. This long-term role offers a temp-to-perm pathway and starts on 1st September. A calm, patient, child-centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English at Grade C (or equivalent) required.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) essential.
• Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs.
• Experience in schools, childcare, tutoring, youth work, care or related settings welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent 1:1 support across lessons, transitions and outdoor learning
• Building a positive relationship that helps the child feel secure and confident
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social interaction
• Encouraging independence and celebrating small steps of progress
• Following the child's support plan and sharing observations with staff
• Helping create a calm, inclusive environment where the child can thrive
