Job summary

Boreham Primary School in Boreham, Chelmsford, Essex, is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with an EHCP every morning, 8:35am to 12pm, Monday to Friday. The role is fixed-term for the duration of the pupil’s attendance, with safeguarding as a priority.

The successful candidate will join a caring, enthusiastic team and work alongside staff and professionals to adapt activities as needed, while promoting safety and excellent communication with families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
• Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs within a primary classroom.
• Understanding of autism, demand avoidance and the use of non-declarative language.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil with an EHCP every morning.
• Follow an interest-led personalised curriculum inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with school staff and other professionals while showing initiative when needed.
