Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Tutor to work in the SK8 area of Stockport during weekday school hours. The role focuses on delivering personalised tuition to learners with SEN, helping them build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve academic goals.

You will support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other needs, adapting lessons to individual requirements, maintaining progress records, and collaborating with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
• Experience with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH) and EHCPs is desirable.
• Strong understanding of the UK curriculum and ability to adapt lessons.

1:1 SEN Tutor - SK8 Stockport

Location: SK8, Stockport
Hours: Part-Time, School Hours (Weekdays)
Pay: £25 - £30 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 SEN Tutor to provide tailored educational support to learners in the SK8 area of Stockport. This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition during weekday school hours, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve their academic goals.

You will work closely with learners who may have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties, adapting lessons to meet their individual requirements and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

• Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs.


• Support students in core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science where required.


• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs.


• Plan and deliver personalised lessons that promote engagement and progress.


• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.


• Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.


• Encourage student confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.

• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.


• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.


• Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.


• Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).


• Right to work in the UK.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.


• Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those out of mainstream education.


• Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition.


• Knowledge of EHCPs and targeted intervention strategies.

• Flexible part-time hours during school hours on weekdays.


• Competitive pay of £25 - £30 per hour.
