Job summary

A 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role in a Wigan primary school is available, starting September. The position is full-time (5 days a week) and involves supporting a Reception pupil with additional learning needs to access the EYFS curriculum at the child’s own pace.

You will work closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO, using resources like PECS and Now-and-Next boards to aid communication and routine structure. DBS disclosure is required and UK work rights are essential.

Qualifications

• IEP or EHCP-based tasks must be followed.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Level 2/3 TA qualification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Reception pupil.
• Support EYFS access to the curriculum.
• Use visual aids to support routines and learning.
• Collaborate with the Class Teacher and SENCO.
• Support social and emotional development of the pupil.
