Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 role in Hyde, SK14. You will work with a pupil with complex needs, implementing EHCP goals and behaviour strategies to promote learning and well-being.

Ideal candidates hold Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications, with proven experience supporting children with SEND. The role requires calm resilience, consistency, and a proactive, engaging approach to student progress.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Has demonstrable experience supporting children with complex SEND.
• Is calm, patient, resilient and proactive.
• Is confident managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Can adapt support to meet individual needs and keep pupils engaged.
• Is committed to providing consistent, high-quality one-to-one support.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEND.
• Implement strategies to support learning, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Confidently use positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Follow and implement the pupil's EHCP.
• Build a trusting relationship through patience, consistency and encouragement.
• Recognise and celebrate small achievements and individual progress.
