Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for Huddersfield. The role offers full-time hours, a consistent schedule from 8:15am to 3:30pm, and exposure across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 to support pupils with special educational needs.

You will work in welcoming primary schools, delivering tailored interventions, logging progress, and collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure inclusive learning progress. Competitive pay and ongoing consultant support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Experience in a primary school setting.
• Level 2 Childcare qualification desirable.
• SEN-specific qualifications or training advantageous.
• Understanding of KS1/KS2 curriculum.
• Commitment to pupil progress and development.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong safeguarding and child welfare understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs.
• Deliver tailored intervention and support programmes.
• Support learning across the primary age range.
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence in the classroom.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor and record pupil progress.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and parents on learning plans.
• Support small group learning activities when required.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Advocate for pupils to achieve learning goals.
