Smile Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Male SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support within a Birmingham school. The role involves supporting the pupil to access learning, building a trusting relationship, and promoting engagement, confidence and independence throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children or young people, SEN or 1:1 support, a strong work ethic and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.

• Support social, emotional and academic development.
• Promote positive behaviour and use appropriate strategies.
• Maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
• Follow individual support plans and strategies to meet the pupil's needs.
• Monitor and communicate progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Identify opportunities to support the pupil inside and outside the classroom.

Male SEN Teaching Assistant

Smile Education are currently recruiting for an experienced, proactive and hardworking Male SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support within a school in the B24 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people. The successful candidate will need to be confident working on a 1:1 basis and able to build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.

The role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil to access learning and participate in classroom activities.
• Build a strong and positive professional relationship with the pupil.
• Encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
• Support the pupil with their social, emotional and academic development.
• Promote positive behaviour and use appropriate strategies when challenges arise.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
• Follow individual support plans and strategies to meet the pupil's needs.
• Monitor and communicate progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Be proactive in identifying opportunities to support the pupil both inside and outside the classroom.
