Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a caring 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to work with a pupil needing additional help to thrive at school in Bristol. You will help the pupil feel safe, included and ready to learn, while collaborating with teachers and parents.

The role requires passion for SEN, a calm and patient approach, and strong communication. DBS Update Service required or willingness to apply, with full-time hours starting in September.

Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • A calm, patient and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with SEN (school-based or otherwise).
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language and other SEND.
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities.
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

1:1 SEN Support

If you're patient, compassionate and love seeing children grow in confidence, this could be the role for you.

We're looking for a caring 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil who needs additional support to thrive in school. You'll play a vital role in helping them feel safe, included and ready to learn.

Your responsbilities will include:

  • Suporting pupils with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Langauge and other SEND
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
