Job summary

Academics is recruiting a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant for a welcoming mainstream primary school in Westminster. The role supports a pupil with SEMH needs, delivering focused 1:1 assistance throughout the school day.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with pay ranging £95-£100 per day depending on experience. Start date is ASAP, with a dedicated classroom and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis.
• Ability to assist with emotional regulation and classroom engagement.
• Experience in a mainstream primary school is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary pupil with SEMH needs within a mainstream classroom.
• Support the pupil with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement throughout the day.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Help the pupil access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and school team to maintain consistent support.
