Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group are seeking a Specialist Behaviour Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Newham, East London. The role offers 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH needs and requires experience in behaviour support. This is a full-time position with an immediate start.

You will work alongside teachers and parents, support interventions, and contribute to a nurturing environment with ongoing CPD opportunities and training to enhance your practice.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Resilient, calm and adaptable approach.
• Relevant training or willingness to undertake training in behaviour support techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Support pupils in class, during interventions and in less structured parts of the school day.
• Work alongside teachers, parents and professionals to ensure consistent support.
• Promote resilience, confidence and positive relationships for pupils.
