Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a caring SEMH Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start at a specialist school in the Wandsworth area. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD needs, providing calm, structured assistance and building positive relationships.

You’ll work with teachers and therapists to support learning, wellbeing and behaviour strategies, in a full-time school setting during term-time. A DBS and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH, SEN, ASD or ADHD and related needs.
• Proven ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
• Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Help students access learning in classroom and across the school.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and wellbeing strategies.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist staff.
