Job summary

ACADEMICS is seeking a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Havering, London. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support children with social, emotional, and mental health needs from KS1 & KS2.

The ideal candidate will provide 1:1 support and have a background in dealing with challenging behaviours. The role is paid between £95 - £120 per day, with the potential for a permanent contract starting in September 2027.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with challenging behaviour or mental health.
  • Ability to support children in KS1 & KS2 with SEMH needs.
  • Empathy, enthusiasm and a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Organise teaching and learning resources.
  • Help improve students' academic performance and personal growth.

Skills
