1:1 Learning Support Tutor for SEND & SEMH (School Hours)

Job summary

Quantum Scholars, in partnership with a local PRU, is seeking Learning Support Practitioners to provide 1:1 support and tuition to young people accessing Alternative Provision and EOTAS across Wokingham.

You will work 1:1 with learners across primary and secondary ages, delivering learning support, mentoring and subject-based tuition tailored to each learner's needs, while following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH.
• Experience in school, PRU, Alternative Provision, EOTAS or tutoring desirable.
• Patient, understanding and supportive approach.
• Confident working on a 1:1 basis.
• QTS/QTLS desirable but not essential, depending on role.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Availability during normal school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 learning support and tuition to young people in Alternative Provision and EOTAS.
• Support learners with SEND and SEMH needs across primary and secondary age groups.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Adapt learning activities to individual needs and learning styles.
• Support learners' academic progress in core subjects where required.
• Help learners develop confidence, independence and engagement with education.
• Maintain records of sessions and provide feedback on progress.
• Follow safeguarding, child protection and health and safety procedures at all times.
