Job summary

Quantum Scholars in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Alternative Provision Tutor to support learners accessing EOTAS across Kington and the surrounding areas. This is a 1:1 role focused on personalised academic support and helping learners re-engage with school.

You will work closely with individual learners, tailoring English, Maths or Science tuition to their needs, building confidence, routines and positive attitudes towards learning, while adhering to safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs is essential.
• Experience within Alternative Provision, EOTAS, tuition, intervention, outreach or 1:1 learning support is highly desirable.
• Confidence supporting learners across English, Maths and/or Science.
• A patient, calm and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence working with young people who may be anxious, disengaged or display challenging behaviour.
• Ability to adapt teaching and support strategies to meet individual needs.
• QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching, tutoring or educational experience is desirable, although candidates with strong SEND/SEMH experience will be considered.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Ability to travel to learners across Kington and the surrounding areas.
• Availability during normal school hours.

• Working at the learner's pace and adapting your approach when required.
• Monitoring progress, engagement and development and providing appropriate feedback.
• Working collaboratively with Quantum Scholars and other professionals involved in the learner's education and support.

Alternative Provision Tutor - Kington & Surrounding Areas

Quantum Scholars are seeking a dedicated and experienced Alternative Provision Tutor to support young people accessing EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) and Alternative Provision across Kington and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding 1:1 role supporting young people who may be unable to access mainstream education and require a more personalised and flexible approach to learning.

You will work closely with individual learners to provide academic support while also helping them build confidence, develop positive learning routines and re-engage with education. Learners may have a range of SEND and/or SEMH needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, school refusal and behavioural challenges.

The role would suit someone who is patient, adaptable and confident working with young people who may have experienced barriers to education. Building a strong, positive relationship with each learner will be an important part of the role.

These sessions are referral-based and available during term time only. To be considered for the role, you must have availability during normal school hours.
