Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistants for primary schools across Swansea, starting September 2026. You will work on a 1:1 basis to support pupils with ALN, building confidence and ensuring they access learning within welcoming classrooms.

Role offers a full-time position with competitive hourly pay (£14.25) and weekly PAYE. CPD training is provided, with long-term opportunities to secure school positions and career development within education.

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one classroom support.
  • Support pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and other ALN.

  • Promote independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Support positive behaviour using nurturing and restorative approaches.
  • Encourage communication and social interaction.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, ALNCOs, parents and external professionals.
  • Help pupils celebrate success and achieve meaningful progress every day.

About the Role

You'll work on a 1:1 basis supporting a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), helping them access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

You'll become a trusted adult within the classroom, providing encouragement, emotional support and consistency throughout the school day.

Working alongside experienced teachers, ALNCOs and senior leaders, you'll help create a positive learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to succeed.

No two days are the same, making this one of the most rewarding roles in education.
