Job summary

New Directions Education are currently looking for Learning Support Assistants to work in primary schools in the Swansea area. You will be required to work with groups of pupils across Key Stages, supporting within the classroom with day to day activities helping the class teacher.

We have full time and part time positions available, working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Pay rate is £95 per day.

Qualifications

• Teaching or classroom assistant qualifications and evidence of working with pupils in schools.
• Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs in ALN settings is beneficial.
• Ability to assist with IEPs and monitor pupil progress where required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of teachers.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and monitor progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable participation.
• Assist class teachers with maintaining student records.
• Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

• NVQLevel 2 Teaching Assistant
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
• Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
• CACHELevel 3 in Childcare & Education
• BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.
