Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a full-time ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs in a welcoming primary school in Swansea. This role runs for the full academic year (Sept 2026–July 2027) with potential for a direct contract with the school.

Join a nurturing school community that prioritises pastoral care and academic/emotional support. You'll work with teachers to deliver personalised ALN support and help pupils develop confidence and independence.

Qualifications

  • Experience in nursery, childcare or early years settings.
  • Care work, support work or residential care.
  • Experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, ALN or additional needs.
  • Sports coaching, dance, drama or outdoor education.
  • Youth work, mentoring or community projects.
  • Mental health or wellbeing support.
  • Customer service or hospitality roles with patient, resilient communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting children with a range of Additional Learning Needs.
  • Working with teachers and ALNCo to deliver personalised support.
  • Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a full-time ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a welcoming and highly supportive primary school in the Swansea area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the school for the entire academic year (September 2026 - July 2027), allowing you to build meaningful relationships with pupils and become an integral part of the school community. For the right candidate, there is also the exciting possibility of securing a direct contract with the school following a successful placement.

This vibrant and inclusive primary school is passionate about ensuring every child reaches their full potential. The school is recognised for its nurturing environment, exceptional pastoral care, and commitment to supporting children both academically and emotionally.

You’ll become part of a dedicated and welcoming staff team who work collaboratively to create engaging, child‑centred learning experiences.
