Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a Level 2 1:1 Teaching Assistant for Minera Primary to support a KS2 pupil with medical needs. The role is part-time (27.5 hours/week), temporary until the end of Summer Term 2027, starting as soon as possible.

You will work under guidance to enable the pupil to access learning, build confidence and progress academically and socially, while supporting medical and wellbeing needs throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs and/or medical needs.
• Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils (desirable).
• Demonstrates patience, empathy and flexibility in their approach.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
• Committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
• Works effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
• Willing to undertake training and follow medical care plans as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with medical needs.
• Help pupil access learning and develop confidence.
• Support learning in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
• Promote engagement, independence and inclusion for the pupil.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, healthcare professionals and agencies.
