Job summary

SAST is seeking a caring, enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Dorset. The role focuses on two pupils in upper KS2, supporting learning across the curriculum and delivering tailored interventions. You will work closely with teachers to foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.

The position is term-time, 12 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, 9am-12pm, four mornings weekly, with some interview flexibility. Fixed term until 31st August 2027.

• Experience working with children in a school or support setting.

Responsibilities

• Work one to one to support learning across curriculum.
• Support pupils to achieve their potential.
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored interventions and learning strategies.
• Encourage confidence, independence and a love of learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom to participate in activities.
• Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
