Job summary

Downsend School is seeking an experienced Dyslexia Specialist to provide targeted literacy and dyslexia interventions for students with SEND/EHCPs. You will work one-to-one, in small groups and in-class, supporting learning, confidence and organisational skills.

The role includes monitoring progress, maintaining records, and liaising with the SEND team, teaching staff and families. The position is a FTC until August 2027, approx. 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with dyslexia in a school setting.
• Ability to deliver engaging one-to-one and small group interventions.
• Strong record-keeping, organisation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver literacy and dyslexia interventions one-to-one, in small groups, and in class.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records for learners with SEND.
• Coordinate with SEND team, teachers, parents and external professionals to support student outcomes.
