Job summary

The Downs Malvern is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Lower KS3 pupil with an EHCP and a Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). The role focuses on building confidence, wellbeing and communication skills within a supportive school environment.

You will work 15 hours per week, term time only (34 weeks), in a part-time, temporary position. Training and safeguarding responsibilities are part of the role, with opportunities to extend beyond the spring term.

Qualifications

• Education to A Level standard or above.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach with emotional resilience.
• Ability to work well in a team and build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

• Give individual support in lessons and throughout the school day.
• Reassure and encourage a pupil who has previously experienced school refusal.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement support strategies and adaptations.
• Monitor, record and report progress, development and attainment.
• Attend meetings with parents and professionals when needed.
• Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and the wider support network around the pupil.
• Take part in training, INSET and school meetings.
