Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Behaviour Support Practitioner to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The role involves 1:1 and small group behaviour support to help students engage with learning.

You will implement behaviour management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and work with school staff to create safe, inclusive learning environments. Flexible hours and weekly pay are offered, with DBS checks undertaken.

Qualifications

• Experience working in UK schools or educational provisions.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Level 2+ Qualification in Education / Health Care or related.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Resilient, calm, and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support
• Support students with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or additional learning barriers
• Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans
• Assist with de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies
• Support pupils in classrooms, intervention spaces, or alternative provision settings
• Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral, and SEN teams
• Monitor and report on student behaviour and engagement
• Promote a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
