Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in a Southam SEN Primary School. This full-time role runs 08:30–15:00, with potential to become ongoing for the right candidate, and focuses on helping the pupil access the curriculum in an inclusive environment.

The role involves supporting IEPs, tracking progress, and promoting independence and social development, while maintaining records and contributing to a safe classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged pupils, SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of Autism/ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Ability to stay calm, patient and consistent when supporting pupils who may display challenging or distressed behaviour.
• Genuine commitment to helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism/ADHD and SEMH, active and can display challenging behaviour.
• Assist in delivering IEPs or personalised support plans, working with the class teacher to track progress and adjust strategies.
• Promote the pupil's independence, confidence and social development through consistent encouragement and support.
• Support classroom learning by assisting with tasks, preparing resources, and maintaining records when required.
• Contribute to creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
