Job summary

Hoop Education are recruiting an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Cardiff. This role is ideal for someone with a background in behaviour support and SEN/ALN experience.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support, help the pupil engage with learning, manage emotions, and work closely with the class teacher and school safeguarding procedures to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience supporting children/young people.
• Experience working with behavioural needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Current registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to an individual pupil.
• Support a pupil with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child.
• Encourage engagement, confidence and participation in learning.
• Support positive behaviour and help the pupil regulate their emotions.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Follow the school's behaviour, safeguarding and support procedures.
• Adapt your approach according to the pupil's individual needs.
• Help create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
