Justteachers Ltd in Newark is seeking a full-time Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist provision starting in September 2026. The role is long-term, temporary to permanent, and requires working with pupils who have SEN/SEMH or related needs within a highly structured environment.

You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement positive behaviour approaches, support emotional regulation and facilitate access to learning throughout the school day.

Qualifikationen

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Aufgaben

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural, emotional and learning needs.
• Implement behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies consistently.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Build positive, professional relationships to promote trust and confidence.
• Assist with classroom activities and support access to learning.
• Respond to and de-escalate challenging situations using appropriate techniques.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
• Monitor, record and report on pupil behaviour, wellbeing and progress.
• Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times throughout the school day.
