Summary :

We are looking for a leader to take Wabtec On-Prem Compute offerings to the next level – and drive application team adoption across the Corporation. With the existing solutions architects in EMEA and the US you will be building on our current on-prem footprints and be responsible through the Platform Leadership Team for driving the core platform strategy ensuring implementation of Cyber, Compliance, Financial and Architectural best practice.

As a Platform evangelist, you will :

1. Work closely with the Enterprise & Product DevOps / Application teams providing Enterprise Architecture consultancy and advice to help drive adoption of our core platforms, products and services.
2. Continue the evolution of our On-Prem Service Offerings & automation practices enabling the re-factoring of traditional locally hosted applications to our Datacenters and Public Cloud.
3. Provide the necessary technical & architecture support to enable the correct placement of resources within the Platform eco-system.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of on-prem Compute technologies & automation, as well as experience designing pragmatic landing zone solutions for compute workloads that support business process. You should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Analyzes, designs and develops a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
2. Review and / or analyze and develop architectural requirements at domain level within service portfolio or team.
3. Participates in the EA domain governance model.
4. Contributes to the development of software, data and technology platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different business use-cases.
5. Leads the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and / or operational support activities.
6. Develops, motivates and directs staff to create a team environment.
7. A Senior Manager is a leader that manages his / her Service Offerings / major project or large portfolio.
8. The direct reports to this leader are technical leads and individual contributors; other people managers can be led through indirect reporting relationships.
9. Leadership comes through technical depth within the Service Offerings and ability to lead / influence within business.
10. This leader will leverage his / her technical depth and broader business understanding to coach and develop the technical leaders that report to them.
11. May also assume budget management responsibilities and strategic inputs into Budget / Strategic planning and other business activities.
12. May also have responsibility for teams in multiple geographies across EMEA and the US.
13. Develop peer, cross-functional and cross-business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.
14. Responsible for management activities including recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, organization and teaming.
15. Select, train, develop, manage and lead the people.

Minimum Qualifications :

1. Education requirement - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM.
2. General industry experience requirement - Minimum 8 years experience in IT Infrastructure or Software Architecture & design.
3. Specific technology or skillset experience - Minimum 8 years experience in providing compute solutions in a nix / Windows environment including use of VMWare & HyperV.

1. Ability to work unsupervised.
2. Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise, and create solutions.
3. Ability to respond positively to feedback, and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
4. Familiarity with On-Prem Compute Technologies & Enterprise IT Architectures as it relates to Platform capabilities.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
