Job Description:
The main responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer will be to support and maintain Thermo Fisher Scientific's electron microscope range.
The engineer is responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of complex associated equipment and systems.
The Service Engineer works with the Service Manager in their region.
Mission statement:
- Work independently as part of a service team for electron microscopy products, dedicated to the Life Sciences and Material Sciences markets of the MSD division.
- Install sophisticated equipment and follow test procedures to ensure accurate operation.
- Carry out annual preventive maintenance on equipment, as well as corrective maintenance on request.
- Provide customer service in the area allocated and support in France and occasionally in Europe, sometimes in controlled environments (clean room, P3 laboratory, controlled nuclear zone).
- Accurately detail service activities in the field by drafting service and technical reports.
- Communicate efficiently internally (hotline, field application engineers, product managers, service managers, sales engineers, etc.).
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Profile:
- Experienced technician/engineer in electronics, physical measurements.
- Knowledge and/or experience of electron microscopy is a prerequisite.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems on sophisticated electronic and mechanical instruments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and remotely (Home Office).
- Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written).
- Availability for daily travel within the area, occasionally in France, Europe, and Morocco.
