Yacht Re-fit Project Manager

A leading engineering company supporting the Superyacht Industry is looking for an experienced Yacht Refit Project Manager to lead refit teams and oversee the successful delivery of projects, while ensuring excellent customer service.

About the Role

The Project Manager will oversee yacht re-fits and engineering projects, acting as the main point of contact between technical teams, management, administrative staff, shipyards and clients.

The role will provide technical guidance, keep management informed through regular project updates, and ensure every project meets contractual requirements, technical standards, timelines and quality expectations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage yacht refits, major engineering projects and routine maintenance, coordinating with shipyards, technicians and clients.
• Lead and manage on-site and mobile teams of engineers, ensuring effective planning and timely responses to both planned and emergency maintenance works.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout refit and servicing projects.
• Prepare technical service reports and maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring clear and effective communication across the team.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime standards and regulations, remaining up to date with changing requirements.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to contractual specifications, industry regulations and quality standards.
• Oversee detailed project plans, timelines, budgets and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and strong project alignment.
• Take responsibility for departmental budgeting and planning, ensuring effective resource utilisation and strong profitability.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and quality control assessments.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify potential project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring a high level of service and communication.

Skills & Requirements

• Proven experience in project management within the yachting or maritime sector.
• Strong hands-on experience and technical knowledge across hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Extensive experience with electro-hydraulic refit and servicing projects.
• Strong knowledge of superyacht engineering systems and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, leadership and client-facing skills.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams, ideally teams of 10+ personnel.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Commercially aware with a strong understanding of project budgets, resources and profitability.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Fluent English language skills are essential.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced marine engineer who has progressed from either a seafaring Chief Engineer position or an Engineering Manager role within the maritime sector.

You will have extensive hands-on experience delivering electro-hydraulic refit and servicing projects, alongside the ability to lead sizeable engineering teams and manage projects from planning through to completion.

Strong client-facing skills are essential, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with yacht owners, representatives, shipyards and other stakeholders.

You will be operationally strong, commercially savvy and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where projects can change quickly and require a hands-on approach.

Location

The role will be based in Antibes, South of France, with some international travel required.

Candidates should either already be based locally or be prepared to relocate to the region.

Fluent English is essential.
