RAW Resourcing, on behalf of an established ship repair organisation in Marseille, is seeking a Ship Repair Manager to lead vessel repair and maintenance projects in a busy shipyard.

You will coordinate from initial scope and planning through execution and redelivery, working with Shipowners, Captains, Chief Engineers, subcontractors and yard teams.

The role requires hands-on project management, strong communication, and the ability to deliver safely, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience managing ship repair or vessel maintenance projects.
• Strong understanding of shipyard operations and multidisciplinary repair.
• Degree or qualification in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong project planning, coordination and problem solving skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience monitoring costs and variations.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and work scopes simultaneously.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• English language skills essential; French advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Manage ship repair and maintenance projects from enquiry to vessel redelivery.
• Review repair specifications, technical requirements and work scopes.
• Plan and coordinate steel, piping, mechanical, electrical, blasting, painting activities.
• Coordinate shipyard production teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Act as a primary contact for Shipowners, Captains and Chief Engineers.
• Monitor schedules, manpower, costs and progress.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery meeting quality standards.
• Support project close-out, reporting and invoicing.

RAW Resourcing is supporting an established ship repair organisation in Marseille with the appointment of an experienced Ship Repair Manager.

We are looking for someone with experience managing vessel repair and maintenance projects within a shipyard environment, coordinating projects from initial scope and planning through execution and final vessel redelivery.

This is a hands-on project management position requiring someone who can work directly with Shipowners, Captains, Chief Engineers, subcontractors and shipyard production teams to successfully deliver complex repair projects.

THE ROLE

You will take responsibility for the management and delivery of ship repair projects, coordinating technical, operational and commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Manage ship repair and maintenance projects from initial enquiry and scope review through to completion and vessel redelivery
• Review repair specifications, technical requirements and vessel work scopes
• Plan and coordinate steel, piping, mechanical, electrical, blasting, painting and other ship repair activities
• Coordinate shipyard production teams, supervisors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Act as a key point of contact for Shipowners, Technical Superintendents, Captains and Chief Engineers
• Monitor project schedules, manpower, costs and overall progress
• Manage additional works and variations identified during project execution
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning and project close-out activities
• Work closely with Production, Estimating, Procurement, Commercial and HSE teams
• Maintain strong communication with the client throughout the repair period
• Support final project reporting, invoicing and commercial close-out

THE PERSON

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience managing ship repair / vessel maintenance projects
• Strong understanding of shipyard operations and multidisciplinary vessel repair
• Degree or technical qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong project planning, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Commercial awareness with experience monitoring project costs and variations
• Ability to manage multiple contractors, trades and work scopes simultaneously
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• English language skills essential
• French language skills would be advantageous
• Right to work in the EU / France
• Willingness to be based in Marseille, France
