Job summary

MLabs is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own the technical customer journey from discovery through production rollout and adoption. You will collaborate with product, sales, and engineering to design and deploy AI solutions for strategic clients.

The role involves pre-sales architecture, post-sales delivery of production AI systems, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Remote options exist in US/Europe, with NYC in-office 2–3 days weekly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Founding Engineer, or Product Engineer with significant end-to-end customer ownership.
• Proven history of taking ambiguous client challenges from initial discovery through to production deployment and measurable business impact.
• Strong ability to evaluate trade-offs across client needs, product features, engineering complexity, cost, and latency.
• Based in the United States or Europe for remote arrangements; NYC-based candidates will work in-office 2–3 days per week.
• High agency and comfort operating autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Own strategic client engagements end-to-end across lifecycle including discovery, scoping, architecture design, hands-on implementation, evaluation, production rollout and adoption.
• Lead technical discovery and design tailored AI solutions during pre-sales phases with the commercial team.
• Drive post-sales success by building and integrating production AI systems for long-term adoption.
• Develop scalable AI applications using modern LLMs, model APIs, tool calling, RAG, and context management.
• Translate customer insights into product enhancements and reusable components, playbooks, tooling, and core features.
• Identify operational and technical opportunities and execute architectural viewpoints independently.
