Job summary

Shift Technology is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive LLMOps and agentic AI initiatives within our Data & AI Platform Engineering team. You will lead a small team, ship production-grade agentic workflows, and collaborate with data science to align priorities and scale innovative AI systems.

You will own the ML platform, guide experimentation, and push forward cutting-edge AI tech in a production environment, while maintaining hands-on coding and architecture leadership.

Qualifications

Proven experience building production agentic systems.
High proficiency in Python; experience with Databricks and MLflow.
Experience leading technical initiatives and coaching teams.
English fluency required; French is a plus.
Strong software design and OOP skills.

Responsibilities

Build agentic systems (LLM orchestration, tool calls, MCP, RAG) in production.
Own LLMOps standards including versioning, tracing, and governance.
Evolve the Databricks-based ML platform and CI/CD to serving.
Design and deploy open-weight model inference with Cloud Ops.
Lead and grow a 2–5 person team through reviews and mentoring.
