GMV Spain is expanding its Space Surveillance and Tracking team in Toulouse, France. The role focuses on developing advanced algorithms for space surveillance and tracking, and integrating them into software from prototype to operational deployment.

You will collaborate with Europe’s leading space agencies in a hybrid work setting. The ideal candidate has aerospace engineering background with space mechanics knowledge, strong math skills, and experience in object-oriented programming, with Java

Qualifications

• Aerospace engineer or equivalent with space mechanics domain knowledge.
• Strong grounding in applied mathematics and statistics.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming; familiar with Java and Python.

Responsabilités

• Develop state-of-the-art algorithms in Space Surveillance and Tracking.
• Implement algorithms in software modules from prototype to operations.
• Provide customer support and technical guidance.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

In our team youwill be developing state-of-the-art algorithms in the SpaceSurveillance and Tracking fields for their application within theoperational chain.

You will be part ofthe largest team of engineers in Europe dedicated to these fields, workingalongside the most prestigious space agencies.

Some of your mainfunctions would be :

• Development of new algorithms in the SpaceSurveillance and Space Mechanics domain area (collision risk assessment,initial orbit determination, cataloguing techniques, orbit determination,manoeuvre planning, attitude characterization ...)
• Implementing those algorithms in SWmodules (from prototyping to operational development, from design toacceptance)
• Providing support to our costumers.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We're looking for an aerospace engineer (or equivalent) with knowledge onthespace mechanics domainarea to join our team in Toulouse. We will valueprevious experience and knowledge in

• Applied mathematics
• Statistics
• Object-oriented programming

Additionnaly, knowledge and experience in JAVA, Python, DevOps and CI/CD will be appreciated.
