Job summary

SAP is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (M/F) to own the full development lifecycle of distributed systems powering SAP's database cloud platform. Based in Paris, Levallois-Perret, the role combines design, implementation, and leadership in a hybrid work model.

You will design scalable data processing components, build high-throughput APIs, and drive engineering best practices while collaborating with experienced teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in distributed systems design including concurrency and scheduling.
• Hands-on with scalable microservices and high-throughput data processing APIs.
• Proficiency in Java for production-grade software development.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes across private/public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Knowledge of distributed file systems (S3/ADLS/HDFS) and RBAC in data platforms.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed data processing components with efficient protocols and self-healing features.
• Deliver scalability and performance through concurrency in multithreaded environments.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs with low-latency access to distributed storage.
• Lead code and design reviews to uphold engineering quality and deepen system knowledge.
