Job summary

SAP is seeking a skilled distributed systems engineer to own the full development lifecycle of our database cloud platform. You will design and implement scalable data processing components, ensure low latency APIs, and guide reviews to raise architectural quality.

Based at our Paris office in Levallois-Perret, you will collaborate with senior engineers, drive best practices, and help grow the team while delivering high-availability cloud services.

Job description

You bring deep expertise in distributed systems and scalable data platforms. Your technical foundation and systems thinking equip you to build complex, high-performance infrastructure at cloud scale.

• Strong grasp of distributed systems design — concurrency, parallelization, consensus, scheduling, and resource management — applied in multithreaded production environments
• Hands-on experience building scalable microservices and high-throughput APIs for data processing platforms
• Proficiency in Java for production-grade software development
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes across private and public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of distributed file systems — S3, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), or HDFS — and of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) in database or data management platforms
• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
