Qualifications

ECC Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Design & Engineering Project Manager to support the delivery of a portfolio of major projects in Paris and the wider French market.

This is a senior-level appointment for an accomplished engineering professional who can take ownership of MEP design and engineering coordination across multiple concurrent projects, working with clients, consultants, designers, contractors and specialist technical teams.

While the position covers the wider MEP environment, we are particularly interested in candidates with a strong Mechanical Engineering background and experience delivering technically complex, mission-critical facilities.

The Role

You will provide senior engineering and design leadership across multiple projects, ensuring that technical solutions are coordinated, buildable and aligned with programme, commercial and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating MEP engineering and design activities across multiple projects.
• Providing particular oversight of mechanical systems and infrastructure.
• Managing the design process from concept and detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Reviewing technical designs, specifications, drawings and engineering submissions.
• Challenging design solutions and identifying opportunities for technical improvement, risk reduction and value engineering.
• Managing interfaces between Mechanical, Electrical, CSA, Controls and Commissioning disciplines.
• Coordinating external consultants, design teams, contractors and specialist suppliers.
• Ensuring engineering deliverables meet project programme, quality and technical requirements.
• Identifying design risks, technical dependencies and potential programme impacts at an early stage.
• Supporting technical workshops, design reviews and project meetings.
• Working closely with project management, construction and commissioning teams to ensure effective transition from design into delivery.
• Providing senior-level technical input to clients and key project stakeholders.
• Maintaining engineering and design consistency across a portfolio of concurrent projects.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an established senior engineering professional with significant experience within MEP design, engineering management or technical project delivery.

You should ideally have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience managing engineering/design on large, technically complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including cooling, HVAC, ventilation, chilled-water and associated infrastructure.
• Broad understanding of electrical and wider MEP systems.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external engineering consultants.
• Proven ability to operate across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong design management, technical coordination and stakeholder-management capability.
• Experience working through the full project lifecycle from design development through construction and commissioning.
• The confidence and technical credibility to challenge consultants, contractors and engineering teams at senior level.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Previous data centre or mission-critical project experience is highly desirable.

We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the technical requirements associated with high-availability environments, cooling infrastructure, resilience, redundancy, commissioning and integration of complex MEP systems.

Language Requirement

Candidates must be professionally fluent in both French and English.

The role will require regular communication with French project teams as well as international clients, consultants and stakeholders.
