Job summary

Yahoo is seeking a Sr Manager, Corporate Accounting to own payroll, benefits, restructuring, LTIP, and bonus accruals, leading a team of two. You’ll manage monthly and quarterly close end-to-end, collaborate across Finance, HR, FP&A, Legal, and Procurement, and drive automation using Oracle Financials, Gemini, and Claude.

Strong technical accounting depth and AIS mindset are required. You’ll partner with Finance Systems and ensure SOX controls, governance, and robust policy docs, while

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a large public or global company.
• CPA or progress toward professional certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and corporate accounting operations.
• Experience with Oracle Financials or comparable ERP; Oracle preferred.
• Advanced Excel and large data set handling.
• Experience with automation and AI tools to improve accounting operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communicative skills; able to influence without authority.
• Ability to manage tight close deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee accounting and close activities for payroll, benefits, LTIP, and restructuring accounting.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for non-personnel accounting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses per US GAAP and SOX.
• Strengthen SOX controls with documentations and walkthroughs.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, FP&A, Legal, Procurement, and IT on costing and Oracle issues.
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external auditors on assigned areas.
• Drive automation and AI adoption to reduce manual work; validate AI outputs.
• Document and improve accounting policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Support broader controllership initiatives and special projects.
