Jobgether is partnering with a client in France to hire a senior Linux Platform Engineer who will own and evolve enterprise Linux platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will shape platform strategy, automation, security, reliability, and lifecycle management at scale, driving IaC, observability, and DevOps practices while mentoring others and coordinating with cross-functional teams. Remote-friendly from France with a 6+ month contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent
• 7–10+ years engineering and operating Linux platforms in enterprise environments, with 8–10 years preferred
• Deep expertise in SUSE Linux, RHEL, or equivalent platforms across large-scale deployments
• Advanced scripting with Bash and Python; Perl an advantage
• Experience with automation and IaC using Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or similar
• Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere)
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, VPN)
• Experience with enterprise storage (SAN/NAS/RAID) and backups (Veeam/Rubrik)
• Monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios, SolarWinds)
• Linux security hardening, patching, vulnerability management, compliance
• Advanced certifications (RHCE, LPIC-3) desirable
• Hybrid/public cloud familiarity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) beneficial
• Experience with Oracle RAC environments and high-availability apps desirable

Responsabilités

• Own the enterprise Linux platform roadmap and lifecycle management
• Define engineering standards, platform build patterns, reliability practices
• Design and implement scalable Linux solutions on-premises and cloud
• Lead architecture discussions and design reviews for Linux platforms
• Drive IaC, automation, and self-service capabilities
• Mentor engineers and promote platform engineering maturity
• Ensure platform availability, performance, and recoverability per SLAs
• Establish monitoring and observability standards (Datadog, Dynatrace)
• Lead complex incidents and root-cause analyses
• Embed security-by-design in Linux architecture and operations
• Collaborate with storage, network, app, and vendor teams to deliver integrated solutions
