Your work at IXOEvaluate whether enhanced, rendered or upscaled imagery stands up to professional scrutiny. You will inspect stills and video frame by frame, distinguishing an attractive first impression from technically sound image quality. The work draws on visual perception, lighting and the behavior of digital images.

Responsibilities

• Identify compression defects, noise, aliasing, banding, inconsistent grain and excessive or insufficient sharpening.
• Explain exactly where an image departs from professional standards, using precise captions and review notes.
• Build targeted visual samples and side-by-side comparisons to test difficult cases.
• Develop rating templates and examples that help different reviewers apply the same standard.
• Check consistency across sequences and resolve disagreements about subtle artifacts.

Requirements

• Bring at least five years of professional experience assessing high-end imagery in film, visual effects, animation or professional photography. Relevant disciplines include VFX or rendering supervision; lighting supervision, lead or artist work; colour grading; cinematography; effects or surfacing; high-end photography; directing, particularly crowd/background action; and digital projection.
• Training through a university or respected film, VFX or digital-media program is required. You need reliable access to a 4K display, familiarity with AI image tools and the ability to generate your own test samples. Fluent English and clear descriptions of complex visual details are essential.

Deliverables and engagement

Deliverables include annotated image/frame reviews, targeted test samples, comparison notes and reusable rating guidance. The opportunity is for US-based contributors who can commit 20 hours per week, with working time overlapping US Pacific-to-Eastern business hours. IXO will confirm the actual work plan before engagement.

Pay is $65 $95/hr in USD. The agreed assignment will define the image specifications, review process and delivery schedule.
