IXO Convert is seeking annotators to convert professional design judgment into structured descriptions of visual work. You will examine finished layouts and layered files, identifying decisions that organize composition and explaining them with precise terminology.

Responsibilities include annotating pages and assets, breaking designs into layers, and describing framing and movement in motion content. A portfolio showcasing typography, hierarchy and editorial/marketing work is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of design experience in editorial, marketing or brand contexts.
• Portfolio demonstrates typography, colour, hierarchy and composition.
• Strong English and ability to explain design choices clearly.

Your work at IXO Convert professional design judgment into structured descriptions of visual work. You will examine finished layouts and layered files, identify the decisions that organize the composition and explain them using precise design terminology. The resulting annotations help AI systems distinguish meaningful design structure from surface appearance.

Responsibilities

• Annotate editorial pages, posters, marketing assets and short video clips against a defined schema.
• Break designs into layers and record hierarchy, geometry, stylistic choices and typographic relationships.
• Describe framing, movement and visual flow in motion material using established composition and cinematography terms.
• Produce strong example annotations that other reviewers can use as references.
• Flag ambiguous cases, missing categories and schema rules that fail to describe a design accurately.
• Keep annotations consistent as the guidelines change, using suitable tools to inspect and organize layered assets.

Preferred background

Relevant professionals include graphic, brand, editorial, print and layout designers, as well as art directors. The preferred experience range is three to five years or more; contributors with seven or more years or art-direction experience may suit quality-leadership work.

A portfolio should demonstrate typography, colour, hierarchy and composition, especially in editorial or marketing work.

A design, visual communication or fine-arts degree is one route; an equivalent professional portfolio is also suitable. Strong English and the ability to explain design choices precisely are important.

Useful tools include Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Canva or equivalent platforms. Motion design, editing and cinematography experience add value. Prior AI experience is not required.

Engagement and pay

Outputs include structured metadata, annotated assets, reference examples and documented guideline questions. Pay is $25 $55/hr (USD). IXO will agree scope and schedule before work begins.
