IXO Labs seeks academically trained evaluators to assess, annotate and validate specialist material across various domains. You will use domain knowledge to interpret diagrams, spectra, maps, schematics, artworks or data charts, and explain every decision with clear reasoning.

Deliverables include specialist annotations, validated content and written rationales. This remote, asynchronous role is up to 20 hours per week, with pay discussed and scheduled before work begins.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a master’s, PhD, MD or MD/PhD program and explain domain-specific judgments in clear English.
• Deep familiarity with visual conventions and technical vocabulary of the field; reliable internet and independent remote-work ability.

Your work at IXO

Use your current academic training to evaluate specialist material for IXO, including evidence that requires subject knowledge to interpret correctly.

Responsibilities

• Assess, write and validate content in your academic field.
• Check accuracy, depth and completeness rather than only whether the wording sounds plausible.
• Identify specialist errors, gaps and ambiguities that a general reviewer could miss.
• Interpret relevant visual material such as diagrams, spectra, maps, schematics, artworks or data charts.
• Explain every evaluation decision with structured reasoning and complete the defined task set.

Required experience and preparation

You must currently be enrolled in a master’s, PhD, MD or MD/PhD program and be able to explain domain-specific judgments in clear English. Deep familiarity with your field’s visual conventions and technical vocabulary, reliable internet and independent remote-work ability are required.

Preferred experience

Candidacy or later training stages, research using visual data, annotation or AI‑evaluation experience, strong program standing, multimodal‑tool familiarity and relevant quantitative methods.

Deliverables and engagement

Deliverables are specialist annotations, validated content and clear written rationales. Work is remote and asynchronous within an agreed project week. The indicative workload may be up to 20 hours per week; the exact tasks and schedule must be agreed before you accept the work.

Pay

Pay is $810 - $1,510/week in USD. IXO will agree the scope, deliverables and schedule before work begins.
