Harmattan AI in Paris, France, is seeking a senior hardware engineer to own electronics design end-to-end for field-deployable defense systems. You will design mixed-signal and power boards, ensure thermal and EMI compliance, and drive production readiness with suppliers.

You will collaborate with embedded software and mechanical teams, optimize for cost and manufacturability, and lead bring-up and qualification for outdoor deployments in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Senior hardware engineer with PCB design and production experience.
• Experience designing and shipping complex PCBs in high-power applications.
• Strong focus on cost and manufacturability for mass production.
• Autonomous work style in a small team with HW-FW collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Schematic Design - design complete schematics for mixed-signal and power boards.
• PCB Layout & Routing - lead board placement and routing with signal integrity and thermal constraints.
• Power & Thermal Architecture - define power architecture and thermal strategy, including battery temperature management.
• Environmental Robustness - ensure electronics withstand outdoor deployment and define qualification plan.
• Component Selection & BOM Optimization - select components for cost, availability, and reliability; drive BOM cost reduction.
• Hardware Bring-up & Debug - lead board bring-up, debug with oscilloscopes and bench equipment; write bring-up scripts.
• EMC & Safety Compliance - address EMC challenges; ensure signal integrity and safety of power/battery sections.
• Collaboration with Embedded SW - define hardware/software interfaces and support firmware bring-up.
• Collaboration with Mechanical - ensure PCB integration into enclosures with connectors and thermal considerations.
• Supplier & Manufacturing Ramp-up - qualify PCB manufacturers and assembly houses; support DFM/DFA and NPI transitions.
• Documentation - maintain schematics, layout files, test procedures, and hardware specifications.
