Vibe, a Paris-based data platform, is seeking a seasoned Data Platform Engineer to own the data backbone: storage, batch compute, and the reporting stack.

You will scale petabytes of data and hundreds of thousands of messages per second, owning end-to-end pipelines and incident response, and partnering with Product, ML, and Finance.

This high-impact role includes ownership, equity, hybrid work in Paris, and a culture focused on delivering fast, reliable data at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production data platforms at real scale.
• Deep lakehouse experience with storage (Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi) and compute (Spark, DuckDB, or Trino).
• Production experience with a modern orchestrator (Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect).
• A concrete story about a pipeline or query you made measurably faster or cheaper, and why it worked.
• On-call and incident response experience, including alerts or runbooks you actually wrote.
• Ability to adapt your communication for different audiences.

Responsabilités

• Own tooling and services enabling data-hungry teams to store and access petabyte-scale event data.
• Enable efficient computation on top of it using Spark, DuckDB, Trino.
• Build in-app reporting on an OLAP DB (ClickHouse).
• Orchestrate batch and real-time data movement across the stack.
• Identify and fix pipelines or queries costing time or money.
• Instrument systems to catch cost and latency regressions before incidents.
• Responsible for on-call and incident response for owned systems.
• Translate ambiguous requests from Product, ML, and Finance into concrete deliverables.
• Set the technical contract with the Front team for the reporting UI.
