Voodoo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Feature Platform Team. You will own offline and online ML data components, bridging large-scale batch processing with subsecond real-time updates, and building high-load services for model serving.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Backend teams to design scalable pipelines and a unified data layer. Strong Python, Java/Golang, and cloud experience are essential for success in a fast-moving, hybrid workplace in Paris

Qualifications

• 6+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, ML Engineer, Backend Engineer, or a closely related role in a high-scale environment.
• Big Data & Streaming Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience working with Flink or Spark at scale.
• Coding Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Python for robust ETL pipelines and custom feature-definition SDKs/DSLs.
• Experience or a strong willingness to work with Golang for building high-performance, low-latency backend applications as well as familiarity with Java is highly valued for our Flink streaming workloads.
• Data Architecture: Deep understanding of modern Data Lakehouse design principles, open table formats (like Iceberg), optimization techniques, and data modeling.
• Cloud & DevOps: Strong hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.), though AWS is our preferred environment. Familiarity with DBT for data pipeline transformation is a plus.
• ML Production Awareness: You have a solid grasp of the unique challenges involved in running ML models in production, including working with Feature Stores, mitigating training-serving skew, and model monitoring.
• System Design: You are highly familiar with topics surrounding system scalability, high availability/reliability, low-latency API design, and security best practices.

Responsabilités

• Architect end-to-end data projects from ideation to production release with clear scope, timelines, and benchmarking.
• Proactively identify high-impact feature opportunities by working across the data lifecycle and collaborating with Data Science teams.
• Design, scale, and optimize core components spanning offline training and online inference, including the Feature Store and on-demand training datasets.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for large batch processing and real-time streams with subsecond feature updates.
• Develop high-load backend services to support ML model serving with low latency and high availability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, security, and scalability for an ad-network ecosystem.
• Work in a fast-paced Agile environment with cross-functional partners and contribute to engineering culture.
• Mentor teammates and foster a growth-oriented environment.
