Pennylane is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel, Contracts to partner across Sales, Partnerships, Security, Finance and Product. You will draft, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, from purchase orders to post-signature follow-up, with a focus on international contracts outside France, notably Germany.

You will help scale contracting processes, develop templates and playbooks, and ensure legal risk is aligned with business objectives in a fast-growing fintech environment

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with extensive contract law experience in IP/IT/SaaS
• Fluent in English with working knowledge of French and German
• Strong expertise in B2B SaaS agreements including IP, indemnification, liability caps, SLAs and data provisions
• Autonomous and able to manage matters from start to finish
• Experience in a multi-jurisdictional Europe environment, especially France/Europe
• Interest in legal operations and technology, with process structuring or contract-management tooling experience
• Business partner mindset, able to balance speed and protection of the company
• Rigorous, concise, and able to simplify complex legal topics for non-legal audiences
• Thrives in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity and rapid iteration

Responsabilités

• Draft and negotiate international contracts outside France, with current focus on Germany
• Manage contracts with strategic international suppliers and resellers
• Improve contract templates and playbooks to reflect regulatory and business changes
• Streamline contracting processes with Sales, Partnerships, and cross-functional teams
• Improve contract management tools and explore automation opportunities
• Provide pragmatic advice to Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security and Product teams
• Train non-legal teams and promote a strong legal culture across Pennylane
