Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a growing cloud platform to hire a Lead Tech SRE based in France. This fully remote role leads a small SRE team while shaping architecture, delivery, and operational excellence across GCP, Kubernetes, and GitOps tooling.

You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of production environments, define SLOs, drive cost optimization, and collaborate with security and platform teams to scale from Beta toward GA, all while hands-on contributing to design and implementation.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in SRE/platform engineering or infra engineering.
• Deep production-grade Kubernetes expertise with scale management.
• Strong hands-on GCP experience (GKE, IAM, VPC, private clusters).
• Expert Terraform skills for reusable modules and multi-env states.
• Ability to define architecture, specs, trade-offs, and translate designs into plans.
• Experience coordinating delivery and guiding a small engineering team.
• On-call experience and postmortems with reliability improvements.
• Experience with SaaS products and production reliability with meaningful SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture of the managed cloud platform on GCP, including environments, clusters, networks, databases, queues, and deployment strategies.
• Define architectural roadmap and guide evolution from Beta to GA, balancing isolation, reliability, scalability, and costs.
• Write and maintain specs, RFCs, and ADRs explaining trade-offs and decisions.
• Define SLOs and error budgets to guide priorities.
• Lead delivery across a three-person team, assign work, review implementation, and remove blockers.
• Establish engineering standards for Terraform modules, Helm charts, and GitOps.
• Automate the customer-instance lifecycle: provisioning, upgrades, scaling, backups, migrations, decommissioning.
• Own deployment and release strategy with ArgoCD and GitHub Actions, including progressive rollouts and safe upgrades.
• Build end-to-end observability: metrics, logs, traces, alerting.
• Lead on-call operations and incident response with runbooks and blameless postmortems.
• Plan capacity and autoscaling for variable workloads.
• Drive cloud cost optimization through FinOps and cost attribution.
• Strengthen platform security in collaboration with security engineers.
• Collaborate with platform teams to improve reliability and product features.
• Lead milestones for first six months: GA specs, SLOs, automated provisioning, observability, safe upgrades.
