Job summary

Generare is seeking a Senior Bioinformatician to join our distributed R&D team. You will own projects end to end, collaborating with wet-lab colleagues to scope questions, design analyses or tools, deliver results, and hand over production-ready solutions.

Some work will become software bricks within our production workflow, while others will directly guide the next round of experiments. You will apply sound engineering practices, run pipelines with Nextflow, analyse Nanopore data and ensure

Qualifications

• 3+ years after degree or PhD as main contributor on engineering or scientific projects
• Ability to turn a biological question into a scoped analysis and explain results to non-bioinformaticians (in English)
• Proficient Python programming with data analysis (pandas, NumPy, plotting) and sound statistics
• Engineering practices: git, testing, packaging, containers and documentation as a routine
• Experience with AI-assisted coding and ability to review, test, and own generated code
• Experience building pipelines with Nextflow or Snakemake and running on HPC (SLURM) or cloud batch
• Nanopore sequencing data analysis (amplicon and/or WGS)
• Working fluently in English
