Job summary

Generare is seeking a Senior Bioinformatician to join its small, distributed R&D team. You will own projects end to end, design analyses and tools, and deliver results that guide experiments at the bench.

You will develop software bricks for production workflows, run pipelines with Nextflow, and apply rigorous statistics to Nanopore data. English is the工作 language, with one day on site in Paris per month.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a main contributor on engineering or scientific projects.
• Ability to turn biological questions into scoped analyses and explain results to non-bioinformaticians.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and statistics.
• Experience with git, testing, packaging, containers and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Project ownership: scope questions with wet-lab colleagues and define analyses or tools.
• Deliver results guiding next experiments and explain findings to non-bioinformaticians.
• Handover and maintain tools for others to use.
• Build software bricks that integrate into production workflows.
• Develop and run pipelines with Nextflow and cloud batch.
• Apply sound engineering practices: version control, testing, packaging, containers, docs.
• Analyze Nanopore sequencing data from raw reads to final results.
• Use AI coding assistants with judgment to review and own output.
• Work on multiple projects in parallel with a bias toward actionable results.
