Job summary

Photoroom is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer in Paris to own the pricing system across all apps. You will help deliver product growth initiatives and pricing architecture while collaborating with frontend and backend engineers, product owners, and the pricing team.

The role involves owning architecture from A to Z, improving performance, and scaling to millions of users. Hybrid Paris office with a competitive equity package and health benefits awaits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Django and Django Rest Framework.
• Experience with relational databases at scale, designing schemas and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Experience scaling SaaS and subscription management with Stripe and RevenueCat.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL databases larger than 100 GB.
• Experience designing endpoints in collaboration with frontend engineers, delivering OpenAPI docs and supporting documentation.
• Pragmatic approach, favour speed of iteration and reuse of frameworks/libraries.
• Strong ownership, initiative, and decision-making for product & technical aspects.
• Fluent in English; French not required.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and coding features from A to Z, including monitoring releases' performance.
• Own delivery and architecture of the pricing system used by all products and users.
• Iterate quickly based on user feedback; backend updated multiple times a week.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimize endpoints to reduce latency and scale to higher usage.
