Job summary

Electra in Paris is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own the roaming backend. You will build and operate OCPI/OICP integrations, Go-based services, and our eMSP workflow, ensuring interoperability and scalable invoicing across Europe.

The role covers end-to-end ownership, from design to release, with hands-on work on Go, Rails, PostgreSQL, and AWS, backed by strong observability. This hybrid Paris-based role offers impactful growth and a collaborative mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing and operating production-grade distributed backend systems.
• Strong technical judgment, ownership and reliability focus.
• Experience with integrating third-party systems and APIs, data coherence with external partners.
• Fluency in English and French; comfortable in a complex EV roaming domain.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the Roaming backend and eMSP services (OCPI 2.2.1 and OICP), and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Develop across Go, Rails, PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, messaging and caching, deployed on AWS with Datadog observability.
• Mentor peers, simplify architectures, and maintain high availability as volumes grow.
