Job summary

Axelera AI is seeking a Senior AI Application Engineer in the Model Enablement team. You will own LLM and VLM support on Metis and Europa AIPUs, from studying new models to shipping them in the Voyager SDK. The role blends deep ML inference knowledge with solid software engineering.

You will work with AI coding agents to build, test and verify your own work, and support scalable, production-grade systems. Applicants with hands-on experience in planning, delegating, and reviewing work transfers

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with ML inference exposure.
• Solid transformer inference knowledge: attention, KV caching, decoding, tokenization.
• Experience with LLM quantization and debugging quantization losses.
• Strong Python and PyTorch, shipping production-grade software.
• Daily use of AI coding agents with good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Study new LLM and VLM families; prototype on Metis and Europa.
• Productize research results into Voyager SDK features with stable APIs.
• Define contracts for LLM/VLM blocks detailing inputs, outputs, weights.
• Integrate LLM/VLM serving into Voyager SDK pipeline builder.
• Collaborate to improve accuracy against references and metrics.
• Extend the model enablement platform with hardware closed-loop runs.
